Commandaria, the dessert wine from Cyprus, is according to the Guinness Book of Records, the oldest manufactured wine in the world, its origins traced back to the 8th century BC. Commandaria is a protected designation of origin (PDO) wine and it is only produced in the commandaria region, a cluster of 14 villages in the Troodos mountain range
The Commandaria has a dark red brown color and is presented in a very attractive bottle, with the label being stocked by hand on each bottle. The Aes Ambelis Commandaria has won the 2014 Decanter gold medal, as well as the Silver Decanter medals in 2015 and 2016. The Aes Ambelis Commandaria as dessert wine fits perfectly to sweet desserts but also various cheeses and foie gras, it is also good as aperitif- or as digestif-wine.
