Shipping Cyprus Food and Drinks to Australia

Australia has one of the biggest Greek and Cypriot communities outside Europe, from Melbourne and Sydney to Adelaide and Perth. We post parcels there regularly. This page shows what it costs, how long it takes, and what Australian biosecurity rules mean for your order.

Shipping rates to Australia

Postage is charged by the total weight of your parcel. These are our current rates in euros. The exact price for your basket is shown at checkout before you pay.

Parcel weight Registered Post Economy Post EMS Express UPS Saver
Up to 0.5 kg €7.65 €17.50 €26.00 €20.00
Up to 1 kg €11.90 €17.50 €26.00 €27.00
Up to 2 kg €19.90 €21.00 €30.00 €42.00
Up to 3 kg €25.00 €35.00 €56.00
Up to 5 kg €33.00 €47.00 €85.00
Up to 10 kg €55.50 €75.00

The first kilo is the expensive one. Going from 1 kg to 5 kg by Economy Post adds only €15.50, so a fuller box is far better value per item. Most of our Australian customers stock up a few times a year.

Australian biosecurity: what you can and cannot order

Australia has some of the strictest import rules in the world for food. All parcels are screened on arrival, and items that do not meet the rules can be held, treated at your cost, or destroyed. Please read this before ordering.

  • Generally fine: commercially packaged, shelf-stable foods such as crisps, biscuits, crackers, chocolate, loukoumi, roasted ground coffee, instant coffee, olive oil, tahini, pasta, dried herbs in retail packs, and soft drinks.
  • Restricted or likely to be refused: honey and bee products, dairy including halloumi, meat and cold cuts, eggs, fresh produce, seeds, and some products containing a high proportion of dairy or egg.

The rules are set by the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and change from time to time. If you are unsure about an item, check the department's BICON database or ask us before you order. We cannot refund goods that are seized by the authorities.

Duty, GST and alcohol

Our prices do not include Australian charges. Orders valued above AUD 1,000 are assessed for duty and GST on arrival. Alcohol is treated differently: duty and GST apply to wine, spirits and liqueurs whatever the value, and the recipient must be 18 or over. We do ship alcohol to Australia, and Filfar orange liqueur is a favourite there.
